Gather Ingredients:
For making approx 1.2kg of cake
Flour - 380g
Sugar - 230g
Baking powder - 2 tea spoons
Eggs - 6 pieces large size
Butter / Margarene - 265g
Vanilla extract - 1 Table tea spoon
Milk - 1 cup [250ml]
Lemon zest - Adds flavor to cakes
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease and flour cake pans.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
Cream together softened butter [or margarene] and sugar until fluffy.
Add lemon zest to the mix
Add eggs, one at a time beating well.
Incorporate pure vanilla extract for flavor [or vanilla essence]
Combine Dry Ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk flour and baking powder.
Blend Batter:
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.

Bake at 180 degrees Celcius
Cooling:
Allow cakes to cool completely.
